I am learning to use the counting on strategy to solve addition equations.

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2019

Today we went to the Manaiakalan Fim Festival and I was nervous.
When I went inside the door there was Te Manga, Te Kauru and Ahipara, which is my old school. I was feeling a bit excited and I was looking forward to seeing myself and my class on the big screen!

Rugby World Cup - Ireland

I am learning about Ireland and I know that the capital is Dublin.

In Te Manga we Have been learing about the rugby world cup.
I am leaning about my contry is ireland. which is in cork  
The blarney Stone is in Blarney castle lf people  Kiss the Stone it 
gives you  good Luky. the Blarney Stone is near cork.

First Draft - The Duffy Theatre

Duffy was so exicied  because he was going to his favourite 
cousuins house for the school holidays. when Duffy got there 
Duffy said hi to sam and she did 't say  hi to Duffy when he 
put on nanny wetu's glasses.  he was doing the Dumping Dance     then he got suked into the game. then he meet the Dismantler
and he meet the puzzler then after he was muscles then he got bored then sam put on Nanny wetu's glasses                                       

The The First Rugby Ball SJ Pt 1 No.2 2011

WALT increase our vocabulary by understanding interesting and tricky words in the text.

the first ball was made from a pigs bladder in the early 
1800's.  a bladder is Orgin that holds your pee.
a pigs badder is lots of germ  laden
Now they make rugby ball using synthetic material because it is 
safer and the rugby ball are more at for a last long time Reina.

The Hare and The Tortoise

Today There were 3 people who were entertaining show and it's 
about the hare and the Tortoise there was a girl and she was trying
to beat the hare but she did't win and the hare had the chocolite.

WALT explain what happens when water evaporates.

Alani tipped 2 lite on the conret and and the all girls water did evaporate. The boys did not evaporate in the shade.

Today I was a sound operator.  I learnt to have a turn with the
phone on the stick. It is called a boom stick.  I had to hold it
straight. It had to be above the actors so the sound is better. 
I had to wait for my turn to say “sound speed”.

Ka Pai Kai with Whaea Anna

WALT cook healthy food Whaea Anna. She is teaching us all     
about healthy eating . 

My group is Mason L Kaydee and Mason T. We are going to make nachos. Our recipe needs mince, sour cream nachos chips cheese
and pan and beans. I cant wait to cook with my group.

                                                                                                 

Amazing Water Facts 05.08.19

This term we are learning all about water amazing   water   facts.

WALT we are learning about the amazing water cycle. I needed help and Zav was helping me with the amazing water facts.

My Partner was Zav and I was happy to work with him.

Did you know the Smallest   ocean is the Arctic Ocean and the largest is the pacific Ocean. An elephant can smell water up to 5 kilometres away. Every living thing needs water to live.

The Lion King - First Draft

Me and our class went to The Lion King and all the girls had head bands.  The headbands were brown and yellow and we looked like 
pretty lions.

Some of the names of the characters were Sarabi, Mufasa, Nala,  Simba,  Scar,   Shenzi, Ed,  Banzai, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki and ZaZu.

I was excited because I saw Simba the Lion King in the movie.

My favorite part was when Nala and Simba were playfighting when they were big. I had pop corn and water and a chocolate fredo.
pumbaa and Timon and Simba were singing and Simba was eating 
bugs. Timon and pumbaa was eating bugs too and Simba and Nala 
had a babay.

WonderFul Sentences

I have been learning how to copy and paste from our class writing flip charts to share our learning. I know how to insert bullet points and use the highlighting tool.

We know that wonderful sentences need:

• detail (elaboration)
• capital letters and full stops
• Punctuation (, ! ? “ “)
• quality vocab - WOW words

WALT recognise different parts of speech.

• Nouns are naming words. eg. chair, book, July, Awhi

• Adjectives describe nouns.

Eg. wooden chair, writing book, freezing July, lovely Awhi

• Verbs are doing words.

Eg run, walk, jump, skip, chew

• Adverbs describe verbs.
• Eg. briskly running, slowly walking, jumping high, skipping happily and chewing noisily.

     EXAMPLES

   
1. The bird is angry
2.The bluey-blackish bird is very angry                  

Tuna Kuwharuharu (Longfin Eel)

This term we have been learning all about the Long Fin Eel.  

Our assembly item was based on the story Velvet and Elvis. This was a story about the migration journey that the longfin eel takes.

I have created 2 different digital  learing objects (DLO) to share my learning on this topic.

The first is a poster that I created in my topic book about the challenges to the long fin eel. Whaea Deb took a photo and I inserted it.

I have also made a google poster to share five interesting facts about the Longfin Eel.

Term 2 Learning Goals

Waitangi 04.06 .19

We arrive at Waitangi with Whaea Kerry  and   Whaea Monika.We went up the stairs to the class room. Caitlyn showed us the old rocks. One of the rocks was a pounanu. Then we were doing the unplugged activity. My group was Lara and Lucy. I did Scratch. Jada was helping me with my work. Then I went to on to paint 3D to do my eel. We were playing kahoot at the end, it was fun.

On the Holiday 03.05.19

On the holidays  I went with My family  to the  Nawha  springs. I went  with Mum and dad and Tianah Shave   Tesh .Then we went  in the pools .it was staring  to get cold and then it was staring to get warm. I went in the warm one I went in the warm pools then I went around the back to get  to the cold pools .I went  back to the  warm  pools it was nice. I went back  home with My Mum and dad.

Yay !!! I jumped out of bed and l got dressed and I said to Mum hurry up.

I scoffed my breakfast and l zoomed into the car.

I had money in my pocket.  The food was yum and the

Smell made my mouth water.  l got hot chips and a hot dog.

  There were Ta Moko maori designs.  I got a ta moko. Jada did my

Tamoko then I went on the harley davidson rides.

The seat was soft and I had to hold on tight so I don’t fall off.  It was loud and it was scary.   I won a Tshirt .

After that I went on the Go-Karts. It was black, loud and shaky. I had a race with Mason L.
